Personal Injury Law Introduction
Have you been injured? Did someone else cause your injury? Call me! Legal disputes generally fall into two law categories: Contract or Tort. A "tort" is when a wrong is committed against you or your property. A "contract" is an agreement between two or more persons, whether on paper or not. "Persons" can include real people or legally created entities like corporations. Personal injuries often require applying both types of law to resolve claims and disputes.
For example. Mary is injured in a car wreck when Joe runs a stop light.. Her insurance company wrongfully refuses to pay for her medical bills. That is a breach of contract. In other words, Mary had a contract with her insurance company and the company did not honor the contract. Mary also has a claim against Joe, the guy that crashed into her. Mary had no contract relationship with Joe. So Mary uses tort law to pursue a claim against Joe for her injuries, property loss, lost wages, pain and suffering, and so on. It may even require litigating the matter.
You are either looking for compensation for your damages, including lost wages, pain and suffering, medical bills, and so on or you need a good defense. Whether through negotiation or litigation, we can help.
